Project Details
Nuthatch Construction carried out a complete roof refurbishment on a general storage building in Crewe. Giving the structure a new lease of life. Significantly improving its appearance, durability, and functionality.
Project Overview
The existing roof had reached the end of its serviceable life. Our team removed the old cladding and replaced it with high-performance Profile 6 fibre cement sheets. These robust, low-maintenance sheets are ideal for storage buildings. Offering excellent weather resistance and a traditional agricultural finish.
To complete the roof structure, we installed a two-piece closed ridge system and matching barge boards. These not only provide a smart, uniform appearance but also protect the roof from water ingress and wind-driven rain, ensuring the building remains weathertight for years to come.
Roof Refurbishment Access Upgrades
As part of the refurbishment, we created a new pedestrian door opening to the left-hand side of the existing roller shutter door. This provides easier access for day-to-day use without the need to operate the main shutter every time.
Guttering & Rainwater Management
We fitted Brett Martin deep-flow guttering to both sides of the building, ensuring efficient rainwater drainage and protecting the new roof from potential water damage. This system handles high-capacity water flow, making it perfect for large roof areas.
Next Steps
The roof refurbishment work has already transformed the building’s structure and functionality, but the visual impact will soon be complete. A brand-new roller shutter door and matching pedestrian door in Olive Green are set to be installed, giving the building a cohesive, professional finish that blends seamlessly with its surroundings.
